Product Design Optimisation Methodology : Simulation Automation
One aim of Design optimisation studies are to reduce the number of tests, although they nevertheless still result in a very large number of simulations. Therefore it is vital to fully automate the steps required to launch those simulations, from entering configuration data in the input files to post-processing and extraction of results in the output file, as well as initiating pre-processing and performing the calculations for the simulation itself.

Sample digital processing chains to be automated
These processing chains can be automated fairly rapidly in the event of simple modifications such as changes in thickness or materials; but for more complex modifications such as changes in shape, more time may be required.
Although this is not our core business, EURODECISION has a team of simulation experts for acoustic, vibration, aerodynamic, thermal, and crash simulations. We can assist our client during the automation phase for launching numerical simulations, which is a prerequisite for implementing a design optimisation study:
- verification of the stability of the simulation models
- automation of simulations, pre-processing, post-processing
- parsing of input/output files
- automation of more complex modifications
- management of the computation and error queues
